Our Strategic Pillars: Turning Vision into Action

At FAWoVC, we translate our mission into impact through four key operational areas. These activities are designed to create a pipeline of female excellence from students in STEM to the highest offices of University leadership.

1. Leadership Development and Mentorship

We are committed to nurturing both current and future generations of academic leaders.
Executive Mentorship: Targeted training and mentorship programmes for reigning Women Vice Chancellors and emerging female leaders in Higher Education Institutes (HEI).
Virtual Institute: The establishment of a Virtual Institute for Leadership Development to provide accessible, high-level professional growth across the continent.
Tailored Learning: Developing specialized modules in leadership and mentorship tailored to the African higher education context.

2. Building the STEM and Career Pipeline

To ensure long-term gender equality, we engage with women and girls at critical career stages.

STEM Advocacy: Comprehensive mentoring programmes for girls in STEM studies and early-career women professionals.
Career Advancement: Actively encouraging the apprenticeship, hiring, and promotion of female staff within university faculties.
Future Skills: Advocating for vocational and entrepreneurship training to equip women for the evolving global economy.

3. Institutional Transformation and Policy

We work to change the systems and environments where women work and learn.
Policy Advocacy: Promoting gender and social equity policies across all higher institutions of learning.
Environment and Culture: Advocating for "girls and women-friendly" study and work environments that prioritize safety, inclusivity, and support.
Research Excellence: Driving collaborative research on women-led projects, specifically addressing continental challenges like climate adaptation and agriculture.

4. Strategic Alliances & Sustainability

We believe in the power of collective influence and long-term viability.

Global Networking: Nurturing strategic alliances and regional/global partnerships to amplify the voice of African women leaders.
Resource Mobilization: Identifying and diversifying sustainable strategies to ensure the financial and operational longevity of our mission
